Middle School Science Sub Plans Students Will Love

Use these middle school Science sub plans to make being away from the classroom easier.

Science teachers, tell me, have you ever felt unprepared when you’ve had to take a day off from teaching? You’re not alone. Not everyone has middle school science sub plans ready when they’ll be away from school. 

Throughout the year, we built a rapport with our students, so when the time comes, and we’re not in, things can get thrown for a loop in the classroom. When a substitute teacher comes in, they may not know the students, and they probably don’t know where you are in the curriculum. But you don’t have to feel unprepared when you have science sub plans. These are a lifesaver! 

Your class might already be in the middle of a lesson, but with these science sub-plans, they don’t need to veer away from topics related to science. We have non-fiction articles, podcast lessons, digital escape rooms, and reading comprehension lessons your class is sure to enjoy when a substitute teacher is present.

Middle School Science Sub Plans – Non-Fiction Articles

Non-fiction articles are a great resource for a substitute teacher. These articles dive into popular and high-interest topics that students are aware of but might want to know more about. These will be the perfect addition to your middle school science sub plans – and might even be resources you’ll want to look into yourself!  

All of these non-fiction articles can be used with our Article of the Week Differentiated Lessons program and these Non-Fiction Graphic Organizers. All non-fiction articles contain one non-fiction article and three reading activities to assist with reading comprehension and cross-curricular learning.

Middle School Science Sub Plans – Reading Comprehension Lessons

These reading comprehension lessons are perfect for middle school science sub plans – and they were written specifically with subs in mind.
