Poetry Digital Escape Room

Use this Poetry Digital Escape Room to celebrate National Poetry Month or the end of your poetry unit.

Poetry digital escape rooms are so much fun! April is National Poetry Month, and what better way to celebrate than with a poetry-themed digital escape room

This activity will give students the opportunity to work together or independently to “escape” the poetry museum storage room they accidentally got locked in. They will use any prior knowledge of poetry, as well as learn new things about poetry while completing the required challenges to escape. Students will learn about spoken word poetry, test their knowledge of various poetry types, and challenge their knowledge about hyperboles, similes, metaphors, and so much more!

These digital escape rooms are perfect for both in-person and online classrooms, and the bonus is that they are absolutely NO PREP – easy just to grab and go when you need an activity. Students usually take anywhere from 30-60 minutes to complete. Digital escape rooms are an absolute hit with students as they are challenging, a lot of fun, and a great way to work together with peers.

Note: These challenges are all online and computer-based; no students are locked in any spaces. It is just part of the storyline of the digital escape room.

Teacher Feedback

“Perfect way to finish up my poetry unit. Pairs well with or without the poetry unit from this seller. My students loved this! Challenging enough to hold their attention but not overly challenging as to overwhelm them. Great resource!”
