Science digital escape rooms are a great way to engage students in science classes. They provide a unique and interactive way to explore scientific concepts and help students learn in fun and engaging ways.
I love using digital escape rooms with my students. In fact, I wrote a whole blog post about it, called Why Use Digital Escape Rooms in Middle School? If you are already familiar with digital escape rooms, don’t forget to use these 5 Tips To a Successful Digital Escape Room.
With digital escape rooms, students can work together (or independently) to solve puzzles, complete tasks, and use their knowledge in a creative and engaging manner. This can also help students develop their problem-solving skills and understanding of scientific concepts.
For example, in the science digital escape rooms created by 2 Peas and a Dog, science concepts learned in class are reinforced by solving puzzles with Morse code and other ciphers, as well as with videos, word scrambles, matching games, etc.
Science digital escape rooms offer an exciting and engaging way to learn science in the classroom.
Why Are Digital Escape Rooms Popular?
Digital escape rooms have become increasingly popular over the last few years due to their immersive and engaging nature. Players are able to work together to solve puzzles, riddles and challenges, which can help them to develop their problem-solving skills.
Digital escape rooms also provide an opportunity for players to interact with each other and create an enjoyable gaming experience. The social aspect of digital escape rooms has been a big draw for people of all ages, and the fact that they are accessible on a variety of platforms has made them even more popular.
Digital escape rooms are fantastic for both students and teachers alike as they require little to no prep for the teacher and take 30-60 minutes to complete for the students. This is a very delightful way for students to spend a science class.

What Teachers Are Saying About Science Digital Escape Rooms by 2 Peas and a Dog
Flight Digital Escape Room – “This is a challenging and fun escape room for grade 6 students! It prompted a lot of teamwork and my students had to apply what they had already learned to complete the escape room. Highly recommend!” – Susan A
Space Digital Escape Room – “At the end of our SPACE UNIT students partnered to take on this challenge. They loved the variety of challenges – articles, puzzles, word matching, videos etc and using their acquired knowledge to tackle these 10 challenges. Aside from booking laptops to work on, my job is to sit back and enjoy their engagement. Well worth the cost.” – Donna D
Electricity Digital Escape Room – “In partners, students log in to the digital escape room at the end of our Electricity Unit to recap what they have learned or make some new learnings. Even though there are 10 challenges, I don’t worry if students do NOT complete them all. I just see how far they can go in the time provided and check in with the group to see how far everyone got. They love it and are highly engaged! Worth every penny.”
Heat In the Environment Digital Escape Room – “We love finishing science units with escape rooms and this was no exception! They found it challenging enough that it kept them engaged, yet not too hard that they gave up!” – Rachael G
Digital Escape Rooms are always a hit with students and teachers. They are wonderful for promoting teamwork and encouraging out-of-the-box thinking. If you are thinking of using digital escape rooms with your students, I encourage you to give this one a try.
